AYAL SENIOR
24min | English | Igal Hecht
Ayal Senior is a musical wanderer on a patient, winding path. In the late 1990s, his band Hershel Savage and the American Flag released their sole album on Robert Pollard’s Rockathon Records. It still sounds fantastic today, with Senior’s nasally bubblegum voice sailing over ramshackle, candy-coated hooks that personify pop. The work Senior has become known for in the many years since has veered into territory less travelled. Through his label, Medusa Editions, he brought underground legends such as Arthur Doyle, the No Neck Blues Band, and Sunburned Hand of the Man for their first performances in his home of Toronto.
